Healthy Homes Program

Our Healthy Homes Program removes and remediates asthma triggers in households where asthma sufferers reside. Home improvements to reduce mold, wood rot, and dust mites may include the installation of fans, repairs to leaking plumbing, and general cleaning.

Residents in the following communities are eligible: El Cerrito, Rodeo, Crockett, San Pablo, Hercules, Pinole, unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County (including Baview-Montalvin, El Sobrante, Hasford Heights, Kensington, North Richmond, Port Costa, Rollingwood and Tara Hills). Residents in Alameda County are eligible, but must apply through the county.

Residents qualify for free services if a member of the household: 1) has been diagnosed with asthma, 2) has required medication or hospitalization as a result, and 3) meets the following annual income criteria:

Alameda County residents may enroll online through Alameda County’s Healthy Homes website.

The Healthy Homes Program is funded by Contra Costa County and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). CESC also provides Healthy Homes construction and cleaning services in Alameda County, along with their Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
