Why does the Smart Lights Program only work with small businesses?
Small businesses have long been overlooked by traditional energy rebate programs, which have not been able to address the unique needs of small businesses investing in lighting or refrigeration. Small business owners don't have time to become lighting experts and they don't have the cash flow to pay for 100% of the lighting costs. Smart Lights is designed to assist businesses in overcoming these hurdles. We specify the best lighting equipment and contract the installation with reliable lighting contractors, and we then apply for a State of California energy rebate that covers much of the project cost.

Energy Tips

Recalibrate your electronic thermostats.  Make sure that the time settings accurately reflect when you need heating and cooling.  It is recommended that you set the temperature settings to 76°F for cooling and 68°F for heating.  For even greater energy savings, set the cooling temperature higher and the heating temperature lower, depending on the needs of your employees and business.
