Rebates and Incentives. Your installed project may qualify for federal incentives.
  • California Solar Intiative (CSI) Rebate.  On January 21, 2010, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved the CSI Solar Thermal Rebate Program, which goes into effect May 1, 2010 and applies to all commercial systems installed after July 15, 2009. It offers a one time rebate of $12.82 per therm displaced, up to $500,000 for commercial systems. Visit the CPUC for more information.

  • Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC).  Effective January 1, 2009, you may qualify for a ITC of up to 30% of the installed system’s costs.  Qualifying equipment must be certified by the Solar Rating Certification Corporation (SRCC). 
Financing Strategies. You may be able to finance your system through a small business loan. In deciding how to pay for your solar system, consider contract obligations and whether interest payments are tax-deductible.

Energy Tips

Recalibrate your electronic thermostats.  Make sure that the time settings accurately reflect when you need heating and cooling.  It is recommended that you set the temperature settings to 76°F for cooling and 68°F for heating.  For even greater energy savings, set the cooling temperature higher and the heating temperature lower, depending on the needs of your employees and business.
