Your Project - Commercial

When thinking about your solar project, you will want to take into consideration a variety of factors. These include:

  • Your current energy usage
  • Your potential energy efficiency opportunities
  • Your opportunities for a solar hot water and/or solar electric system
  • Your proposed future energy usage, if different due to changes in occupancy or habits
  • Your project budget

Click here to download Planning for Your Solar Project for further details.

Also, visit these sections of the SmartSolar website to learn more about project planning for your business.

Remember that SmartSolar can provide you with a FREE Solar Assessment, and will help walk you through any questions you might have as you prepare to go solar.

When you have reviewed your SmartSolar FREE Solar Assessment and are ready to pursure project bids, SmartSolar recommends that you use our Vendor List to contact local area solar and energy efficiency contractors and requestbids from at least 3 different contractors.

Companies listed on the SmartSolar Vendor List have agreed to use the following bid cover sheets so that you can easily compare project proposals from multiple vendors. For any company you may work with, you can request they use these forms as well.

You may also request your contractor use the Final Project Report to provide a summary report of your completed project and its expected benefits. Like the bid cover sheets, companies listed within the Vendor List have agreed to use this report, but you can request any vendor to use this report as well.
